Mama Coco’s is a small (in home) bakery and intimate catering business, known for creating plant-based concoctions that compete with the most classic homemade treats you grew up with, as well as the most decadent cheese plates you’d find at a winery…only plant-based and even more delicious.
Mama Coco’s came about after making a drastic change in my diet, becoming fully vegan, and never wanting to settle when it came to delicious treats. I’ve had a sweet tooth for as long as I can remember and although I may not be eating a pack of Reese’s mini’s a day like I would in the past, I still want a tasty treat when I’ve achieved a goal, when I’m feeling down, or when I’m celebrating, and honestly just when I’ve made it through the day. Baking and creating an intimate space to gather through food is something that’s come natural and when my diet became narrower and narrower, the options for treats became limited. No alcohol, no caffeine, no soda, no corn, no dairy, no this, no that and I was not about to start saying no treats or give up enjoying my favorite part of parties, the food!
With all that in mind, I wanted to do what this life is all about. I wanted to share with others. Not only because I love to share but because I feel like it’s my duty, as an ally to this planet, to the animals that inhabit it, and to the ones I care about most and their health as well as mine, to share the power of plant-based eating, and further share it without guilt but rather with compassion.
Sharing makes a difference, rather that’s communicating, spreading knowledge, or giving your space, time, skill, wealth, or love. Sharing my baking and gathering community together through food is one of the ways I hope to make a difference while on this earth, and so it goes…
